Once home to the estate blacksmith, this lovingly restored luxury property combines a variety of materials and hand-picked furnishings to create a distinctive, stylish retreat in the heart of the Eden Valley. The cottage sleeps four across two king-size en-suite bedrooms—one featuring a freestanding bath and log burner, the other showcasing exposed sandstone walls with direct lake views.

Downstairs, an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space with oak floors throughout offers modern comforts and thoughtful touches. The fully equipped kitchen includes Smeg appliances and a range cooker, while the living area provides a smart TV, board games, books, a large sofa, and ample dining space for six—perfect for a relaxing, stylish stay in the countryside.

The owner, Mark, and team are exceptionally friendly and rapidly make you feel at home whilst also giving you space, staying in the background, but always on hand. "We had THE BEST holiday at Edenhall! We stayed over New Year in Kiri Cottage with our Labrador. We had tons of walks in the beautiful surroundings. We made full use of the hot tub! The nearby Ullswater Lake is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Check out Fellside Saunas for a fab experience and walking Alpacas at nearby Lingholm. The staff at Edenhall are friendly and helpful and the cottage was warm and cosy. A beautiful bath in the master bedroom and the bed was so comfortable - I slept so well. I've booked again for the summer! Thank you to everyone for making our holiday so special."

"Kiri cottage was amazing-perfect for 3 day stay (Feb 2026) for myself, friend & two dogs! Good file provided re local info/to-do-some lovely walks around the estate, through the village & down by the river. The cottage is exactly like the pictures - stylish, very warm & cosy (never stayed in such a warm place - the underfloor heating downstairs was fantastic-our feet & the dogs were in cosy heaven!). Everywhere was super presented; bedrooms & bathrooms & downstairs immaculate. Shower gels, shampoo, hand wash (all really good quality) provided. Enclosed garden outside was very safe for our dogs & can imagine sitting there in warmer weather very relaxing). Hot tub fab! Warm welcome in person from staff as we arrived & surprise of bottle of prosecco & handwritten welcome card on the kitchen table. Have already recommended to friends & would stay here again."

The Lodge

Our secluded log cabin on the banks of the river Eamont, the Lodge started life as a passion project of Mark (owner of Edenhall Estate) and was brought to life with the help of the estate team and a few enthusiastic friends. The main building material, larch, was grown right here on the estate and over a period of 18 months was hand-scribed and built. From the upstairs master bedroom – with views that make most of the Lodge’s magical position – a wrought-iron spiral staircase descends into the middle of the fully-equipped, open-plan kitchen and sitting room. Situated on the ground floor of the log cabin are two further double bedrooms, a wet room and separate toilet. The main space has comfy armchairs and two luxurious sofas positioned around the wood-burning stove for cozy evenings. There is ample seating around the table for delicious home-cooked suppers followed by a round of board games, listening to your favourite tunes on the Bluetooth radio/speaker. The sliding doors offer immediate views of the abundance of wildlife around the Lodge – including kingfishers, herons, red squirrels, salmon, otters, pheasants, deer, and the occasional osprey. You can also enjoy the wide lawns leading straight down to the riverfront from the Lodge's wooden verandah, or pop around to the electric hot-tub located for optimum privacy around the side of the cabin. The property is equipped with the following: dishwasher; kettle; toaster; all utensils, cutlery & crockery; toaster; smart tv; bbq; fresh bedding & towels including robes for the hot tub. Logs for the wood-burner are provided and the property has full central heating, including underfloor.
