The Team

From hospitality to land stewardship, our team brings expertise, care, and genuine passion to every aspect of the Edenhall experience.

Everything we do is driven by a love for this place. From the moment you arrive, you are in the hands of a team that takes want to make it incredibly special for you. Edenhall Estate was founded by Mark, and it is his big picture thinking that has driven the regeneration of the estate into what it is today. He has an incredible eye for design and a rare ability to marry the old with the new in a way that feels completely natural rather than forced. Where others might see a crumbling wall or a forgotten corner, Mark sees potential. Nothing is finished until it is right, and that standard is felt in every inch of the estate.

Day to day, the estate is run by Catherine, and quite simply, she is the backbone of this place. Nothing derails her, nothing overwhelms her, and nothing slips through the net on her watch. She holds the whole operation together with a steady hand and a warmth that makes everyone around her feel genuinely looked after, guests and team alike.

Behind the scenes, our grounds staff and cleaning team are the ones making the magic happen. They are up early, out in all weathers and responsible for making Edenhall look as beautiful as it does. We could not do any of this without them, and they know it.

The Founder

Mark Holden-Hindley

Part adventurer, part equestrian, and full-time “Guardian of Eden,” Mark Holden-Hindley isn’t your typical estate owner with a life that reads like an action-adventure script.

A man of diverse passions and global experiences, Mark’s life has spanned from the competitive showjumping circuits of America to the frozen landscapes of Antarctica where he helped recreate Sir Ernest Shackleton’s legendary voyage on the Endurance, traveling from South America to South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula . Yet his heart and heritage remain firmly rooted in the red sandstone of his family estate.

Mark grew up at Edenhall, along with his parents Aude and Airlie and his sister Emma. Their upbringing was defined by a sense of freedom and an outdoor life spent exploring the woods and riverbanks. His mother, Aude, was a successful theatrical agent, and his maternal grandmother was the acclaimed actress

Jean Anderson (best known for Tenko and The Railway Children). This lineage instilled in him a charismatic warmth and a strong work ethic that he has applied to every venture in his life. Today, Mark has swapped the South Pole for the Eden Valley, focusing his creative energy on transforming his family estate into the secret garden of Eden which he does with a vision of “guardianship” rather than ownership. Recognizing the need to keep the historic estate sustainable for the next generation, he has overseen a period of creative and thoughtful diversification.

Mark is a passionate advocate for conservation, continuing his father’s legacy of protecting local wildlife, wetlands, and old-growth forests. Mark’s approach is defined by a respect for the past and a keen eye for the future. He remains committed to ensuring that Edenhall remains a place of tranquillity and adventure for both his daughter, Ella-Jean, and the many friends and guests who visit each year.

Our Estate Manager

Catherine is our Estate Manager and the reason Edenhall runs so smoothly

Catherine Anderson

Catherine is our Estate Manager and, if we are being completely honest, the reason this place functions at all. She holds the entire operation together with a sharp eye on planning, operations, finances and everything in between, all while making every single person around her feel like the most important one in the room. Efficient, warm and completely unshakeable, she runs Edenhall with a calm authority that makes even the chaotic days look manageable. She is helped, in no small part, by Doon

the spaniel puppy, who brings her own brand of estate management to proceedings. Outside of work, Catherine has seven marathons under her belt and is currently working her way through the Wainwrights. When she is not up a hill, she can reliably be found somewhere in a Brixton club with the bass turned all the way up. We are not sure there is a version of Catherine that does anything by halves, and honestly, we would not want there to be.

Sales & Bookings Associate

Dominic Smith

Dom is our Bookings and Sales Associate and the kind of person who makes everything feel a little happier and more looked after. He is the first to roll up his sleeves, whether that means hand-checking properties or putting together a bespoke hamper that genuinely delights whoever receives it. He also has a brilliant eye behind a camera. When he is not at work, Dom can be found out in the Lakes in his beloved Mini Cooper named Olive, and a camera round his neck.

Maintenance Technician

Pavlo Titskyi

Pavlo is our detail-driven Head of Maintenance, known for his near-superhuman attention to detail. He keeps the estate in impeccable order inside and out. Off duty, his softer side appears—usually in the company of estate dogs Peppa, Kai and Zuri, and most notably with Juno our pet deer who always joins him for a walk.

Groundsman

Callum Marston

Callum is our groundsman and the kind of person you simply cannot imagine the estate without. Loyal, easygoing and completely reliable, he keeps everything ticking along without any fuss. When he is not keeping the grounds in order, Callum moonlights as a TikTok creator, quietly building a devoted following who are very much here for whatever niche corner of the internet he has made his own.

Head of Housekeeping

Leon Jeffries

Leon heads up our Housekeeping team with the kind of speed and organisation that would put a pit crew to shame. A natural multitasker, he's been known to clean an entire floor while delivering an impromptu vocal performance. When he's not keeping Edenhall immaculate, you'll find him indulging his passion for fast cars — because why do anything at half pace?

Junior Groundsman

Archie Brunskill

Archie is the newest member of the team and already completely at home here. He is quietly getting to grips with everything the estate throws at him, and doing so with a dry sense of humour. He has a natural affinity for machinery, which serves him well, and arrives each day via scooter because Archie is rarely far from something with wheels. Off the clock, he is sustained almost entirely by his granny's traybakes and an unwavering loyalty to Dairy Milk.

Construction Manager

Ben Western

Ben Western has been part of Edenhall since he was sixteen years old, which means he has grown up on the estate in more ways than one. Now running his own company, alongside his work on the estate, he and his team have turned their hands to virtually every project the estate has thrown at them, and there have been many. No project has been too big, too complicated or too ambitious. Ben is as much a part of this estate as the buildings themselves.
