Carefully designed by the owner, Mark, and his team, the cabin flows effortlessly from indoors to outdoors, with a large sofa and wood burner inside and a wood-fired hot tub for cosy evenings.

Private toilet and shower facilities are housed in stylish shacks just a few steps from the front door.

Testimonials

"Fabulous short stay, perfect way to recharge the batteries! A gorgeous cabin in a magical woodland setting. Merlin was clean, warm, comfortable and well-equipped. The hot tub was glorious, particularly after a chilly day out around Ullswater, with a plentiful supply of wood to keep the temperature up. Despite there being 3 cabins on site, they are very well spaced out and carefully positioned to ensure privacy- we didn't see or hear our neighbours at all!"

Zoe

"After first visiting The Merlin cabin last summer, we just knew we had to return this year to celebrate my birthday. The self- check in process was so easy and as expected the accommodation was spotless and homely! The outdoor environment was just the perfect woodland setting and gave us plenty of privacy to make it feel like we were the only people there. The Merlin was a perfect base for our 4 night trip to the Lake District."

Mollie

"Absolutely stunning woodland location. Facilities were spot on. The cabin was spotless. Friends booked the adjoining cabin and the outdoor space made an excellent meet up area. The kids loved exploring the woodland."

Leanne

"We had an amazing time off grid. This was the first time we’ve done anything like this. The perfect blend of creature comforts but still glamping."

Paris

"We only had a two day stay and wish it could have been a lot longer. The cabin was perfectly remote and tranquil but close enough to amenities and activities also. The cabin itself was perfect for two and had a wonderful view into the trees and across the fields. The bed and sofa were very comfy and stove heated the cabin really easily. The shower and toilets were very good quality (better than some hotels), it really didn’t feel like a chore going outside to use them. There were lots of choices of places to sit outside and the huge double doors gave great views from inside. The area was also very well kept with good lighting and staff dropping off the logs was very friendly. Would love to return and wish we were still there!"
