The Lodge

The Lodge started life as a passion project by Mark and was brought to life with the help of the estate team and a few enthusiastic friends. The main building material, Larch was grown right here on the estate and over a period of 18 months hand-scribed and built.

From the upstairs master bedroom - with views that make the most of The Lodge's magical position - the wrought-iron spiral staircase drops into the middle of the fully-equipped open-plan kitchen and lounge. Situated on the ground floor of the cabin are two further double bedrooms, a wet room and separate toilet. The main space has comfy armchairs and two large sofas positioned around the wood-burner for cosy evenings. The sliding doors open offering the chance to see an abundance of wildlife from the comfort of the deck - this includes king fishers, heron’s, red squirrels, salmon, otters, pheasants and deer. (if you don’t know the species by heart you can use the cabins high-speed wifi to google to you heart’s content.) The nearby Lake District, known for it’s wide range of outdoor activities, also demands hearty exploration or, at the very least, idle contemplation
